"Gonna Be On Top"

Tiaan Williams was destined to be on stage. Inspired by her singer-songwriter ‘Papa’, as a child, Tiaan followed him wherever she could. “Papa, let me sing with you” she asked at the young age of 5. Her father, soul legend, Doug Williams, granted his daughter’s wish by inviting her onstage to sing the TV theme to “Home and Away” (his version was being used on Network Seven at the time) at her primary school. At age 5, Tiaan Williams scored her first public performance, joining her father and mentor, in what would be the first of many joint performances… a star was born, there was no stopping her now.

In 2005, Tiaan's future was secured when at age 16 she was among 30 NSW students chosen to participate in the Talent Development Project (TDP). TDP is an amazing program that allows young performing artists to grow and nurture their craft, studying songwriting, singing, stage presence, dancing, styling and music industry business skills. Graduates are also given significant performance opportunities including the School Spectacular, to a live audience of 12,000 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, and broadcast nationally on ABC TV. Tiaan was chosen to perform at two School Spectaculars as a lead singer, followed by an invitation to perform at the opening ceremony for the Youth Olympics. Past graduates of TDP include Human Nature, Paulini, John Foreman, The McClymonts, just to name a few.

Since then, Tiaan has been performing regularly: appearing on Paulini's film clip "Rough Day", singing with Jade McRae and taking up a permanent position with ‘Papa’ Doug Williams in his band, The Mix.

Most recently, Tiaan was selected by Foxtel to perform the theme song to the 2009 series of “Australia’s Next Top Model”. The show’s theme, “Gonna Be On Top” is due for major worldwide digital release in April 2009. The video clip showcases her talent, beauty and versatility.

At the tender age of 21, Tiaan has a wealth of performing and songwriting experience and a bright future ahead. Without doubt, this is Tiaan’s time to shine and be “on top”!
